Do yourself a favor don't buy here

This is the worse decision we have ever made in purchasing a condo The Board is a joke bullies They have no compassion they just don't care notices taped on the hallway doors with tape that removes the paint not even taped straight its crazy

THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE 10 Prestwick Bay SE

I love this complex because prime location secure heated underground parking clean grounds buildings maintenance person on site condo fees include EVERYTHING except phone TV internet very healthy reserve fund elevators new carpet paint fobs in all buildings easy access to Deerfoot Stoney and South Health Care hospital Facebook page for communication between the Condo Board and owners As most people know living in a multi unit complex there has to be rules or everyone would just do whatever they wanted and soon our complex would not be a great place to live Many people complain on this site Their complaints come from not wanting to follow the rules or disregarding them as unimportant The rules are simple and not hard to follow Attending the AGM is your opportunity to elect who you want to see on the board and also to volunteer to become a board member I was a board member for one year My eyes were opened wide as to the decisions volunteer board members have to make on behalf of everyone else It made me UNDERSTAND much more what was involved in running a corporation such as this I can't think of a better place to live

Board won't leave you alone

I highly recommend not buying renting in this building The condo board will charge you for the smallest infractions and there is no fighting it Small talk in the elevator is always complaints about the constant notices from the board The latest one was that children aren't allowed to play outside Do not move into this building unless you want big brother to micromanage your life

LOVE MY CONDO THE LOCATION THE UPGRADES

I have read through some of the criticisms feel sad for the people complaining about such frivolousness The BOARD are NOMINATED people who live own in the complex A huge responsibility representing 378 units Anyone who is an owner can be nominated to the board If there were no rules our complex would soon be a dump Volunteers NOT law enforcers NOT Gestapo's ORDINARY PEOPLE I invite anyone who has derogatory comments to let your name stand serve on the board It is not an easy job The board must abide by LAWS set before them by the City the Fire Department etc Often the BOARD gets blamed from unhappy residents who don't like rules when it is not even the board who made the rules in the first place We are a multi unit complex In the 7 years I have lived here my condo fees have gone up 20 total month I love 10 Prestwick Bay SE A prime location in beautiful Mc Kenzie Towne easy walking to all amenities easy access to all major routes with well kept property all year round new carpet paint new lobby furniture security cameras throughout fobs and much more I highly recommend this complex as one of the best places to call home

I unfortunately represented a buyer purchasing a unit in the building and the management company Simcoe property management and condo corporation have been nothing but trouble People having no idea what they are doing managing a building

Condo board letters

I am so tired of receiving letters from Simcoe Management that start Please be advised it has come to the attention of the Condominium Corporation and from there you are accused of breaking some rule and threatened with a fine The problem is you are never broken this said rule and have no idea of who is accusing you I am so tired of living in a Natzi Germany run apaprtment where a brown shirt can accuse you of a crime like throwing cigarette butts off your balcony when you don't smoke

Terrible

Owned a unit here for 6 years without issue until receiving a noise complaint for my extremely quiet dog which I had the entire duration of my time there Received a 2nd notice about two weeks later stating I had to get rid of the dog I sent a response pleading for another chance and even offered to pay for in home training and provide proof which was completely unnecessary for my extremely quiet pet but I was willing to do whatever it took to appease No second chance was given I was ordered to get rid of my dog needless to say I sold and moved which was the best decision anyway The old guy that patrols around outside looking for trouble is as vile as they get I recommend you never buy a unit here you'll regret it

This condo is a total dump and the board is full of crazy people

SO HAPPY we moved out of this dump of a condo when we did We sold just in time I have nothing good to say about this building or the board that runs it I cannot believe the amount of fees and nonsense that this board has imposed on residents You may "own†your condo but the board will meddle and micromanage while ignoring major issues There is zero need for a security plan but the paranoid board president is frittering money away on one Now let's save the board some work I think I can cover all their main posting points for them 1 We're not part of the board really seriously we promise 2 The board makes great decisions†pay no attention to the dozens of terrible reviews Those reviews are all posted by drug addicts young people and rebels seriously Rebels When did we all wind up in a star wars movie 3 All young people in the building are clearly feral and must be micro managed lest they start chewing the legs off other residents in the elevators 4 Walking down the hallway damages the carpet Instead of doing our jobs and following up on damage we will charge everyone a fee 5 We are the thin blue line between order and parking anarchy It starts with a rubbermaid bin but soon every stall is a zoo full of ebola infected primates We are the only ones standing in the way of complete chaos I recommend this building to nobody

Don't Buy

I seriously regret buying a unit here Parking is terrible Hallways are disgusting Nice units but everything else is a joke I ve owned other condo's and by far had better experience with the board members Simco is decent That is all Find a different condo apartment There is better out there for the same price

Wow Backing slowly away

I was seriously considering buying one of these units Thank god I stumbled upon this I bet the condo board brings the value of a unit down I m so sorry to all of you who have had to endure what is outright harassment I also get a kick of the ones that are obviously on the condo board calling everyone else Rebels Who does a condo board harass when they are the only owners Do they turn on each other Do they alone have to pay for all the repairs Would make a great case study Don't bite the hand that feeds you good balls Owners get a lawyer and file a class action suit fast

dissapointing management

I lived in building 2000 for 3 years very nice unit super quiet neighbours no complaints what so ever about noise besides when the drunkies would party until 3 am on there patio my only issue was the extremely strict board member or whatever his title was gave me a ticket for my truck leaking oil in the parkade literally the size of a dime than got another ticket after I bought my car and had room to park my motorcycle up against the wall in front of it my car was not even close to sticking out past the pillar but we can only have one vehicle per stall the oil ticket I can understand but for such a small amount the ticket was for cleaning and it was never cleaned the other tickets were for parking in the visitor space without a permit each time I was gone for a maximum of 5 minutes the man goes down every night at about 8 pm and shines lights in peoples cars than records plate numbers I ve even seen him out there in minus 30 scraping windshields to get a peek inside lol all and all besides the sense of entitlement by these board members or whatever they are not a bad place to live

just moved in and 500 in fines

I just moved in in 3 weeks ago and had to book elevator twice to get everything in as I work odd and long hours well to my surprise I received 2 sanction letters from simco management each for 250 for running over the allotted time for the elevators which was on a sunday 1st time done by 6 15 second time done by 5 15 Wow what a way to say welcome to the building I understand condos have their own rules but not even a warning I emailed simco stating they should have one more line added to elevator use instructions stating of a fine if running over allotted time as I am sure I am not the only one When simco was contacted about this she said she was in contact with board members about the appeal and she said fines would stand personally I don't think the appeal was ever sent in she will not provide my landlord with the condo boards contact info so that we can be assured that the appeal has indeed gone through my landlords are great people and I love the place but next sanction might push me over the top to move out was really excited about this place but in reading all the horrible reviews of similar incidents has kind of killed the excitement

10 PRESTWICK BAY SE CALGARY

Tremendous decisions have been made by the board we elected Some decisions were hard to make Many meetings between all involve resulted All decisions are not going to suit all There are 376 FAMILIES affected Who likes rules This complex is exceptionally well run I am THANKFUL that we have a 30 fee for moving as many have no respect for the damage they cause The condo OWNERS would pay for it in a monthly condo fee increase I am NOT on the condo board But we all need to take our turn attend the annual AGM where you can vent or praise Keeping junk and old chesterfields is fine on your balcony if you want your complex to look like a dive I don't so keep only my patio related items there Surely you know that these kinds of rules are good for our property As far as security goes improvements are being made as I write this There are security cameras at each main entrance to each building as well as in all elevators and the underground parking There is a 3 year plan underway to increase security As an owner I am happy with the security and will give an excellent rating when the plan is complete

Another Unhappy Tenant

Very Nice units They are nicely designed However the management board is a joke Insane fines are put in place of any minor infraction Today I got a note on my truck from the management that because my pickup truck sticks out a foot from the pillar I can no longer park underground However I would be fine if the sewer pipe wasn't causing me to park a foot from the concrete wall Doesn't make sense Every truck in that parkade sticks out This is Calgary Alberta not San Fransisco We drive trucks here A lot of us And now there is a fee to move in and out To use for repairs and wear and tear on carpet and such I find it amusing how they just spent a bunch of money shampooing the hallways right before winter Idiots

More fees and fines

Once again the Board comes up with a new charge and a fine if charge is not paid I you are moving in or out you now have to pay 30 for that privilege Fail to register your move and pay this charge and you will find yourself on the receiving end of a 250 fine

Condo board president HARASSMENT

Hi All I have been living in my unit as a home owner for approxately 5 years I have a dog and he has lived with me the entire time As all pet owners feel my dog is like my child He's is part of my family Like others have noted on this website this is now a No Dog condo aside from already approved dogs This is because some owners renters don't pick up after their dogs I do This week I received a letter stating that I allowed my dog to defecate on the property and there was a witness of this Also that I had him off leash and a fine is coming my way This is a LIE I couldn't believe it I have shared custody of my dog and he wasn't even at my place Just yesterday I walked my dog and he did his business far off the property and when we returned home he was hot and we sat in the shade for a few minutes To my surprise the PRESIDENT of the board harassed me until I took my dog off the property in case he has to pee He said I wasn't allowed to let my dog lay in the grass He screamed and told me he would fine me of I didn't So I picked my dog up and went inside I will be taking legal actions Enough is enough

HORRIBLE CONDO BOARD

TEXT ISNT ALLOWING ME TO POST THE ENTIRE POST SO THERE WILL BE 3 DIFFERENT POSTS I own my unit and have lived here for 4 years I love the area and I will never move out of this area This condo building however I can't wait to move away from The condo board is absolutely absurd I must admit that it has changed within the past year but it's still horrible Everyone can say bad things about the condo board and call names but what people really need to know are true examples of why this condo board is so bad

prestwick bay review

I couldn't agree more with the last post A few months ago this board tried to slip through a bylaw paying themselves a salary It is truly pathetic to watch the president and his feeble old henchmen spying on anyone they think have violated one of their rules Not long ago I saw one of them on their hands and knees in the parkade checking if people's vehicle registration had expired I listed my unit a few days later Couldn't sell it fast enough

Last review was clearly written by the board

I can honestly say I regret buying into this building Not only have there been serious strucutural issues which have resulted in levies against the owners but the board is horrible The president and his henchman love this term from one of the reviews act like they own the place and have no problems yelling and belittleing other owners If you wanted to retire in a condo then you should have went to a seniors complex The board also wants to make changes which are ridiculous including paying to move in and out They want to hire a security guard to monitor your move Really I have also not appreciated the president and said henchman banging on my door and asking me to sign to approve said changes

Great Place To live

The Board of Directors have taken all the necessary actions to correct the issues that existed in the complex They have improved the grounds improved the original lay out and have installed a security system in each building not part of the original plan The previous complaints are based by someone who does not have respect for their naeighbors being fined for leaving trash on the balcony how neiighbourly of him The complex is located in a great are full of people who are proud to live there It is located near to so many aminities causing the area to grow and continues to be very very attrative to both families and singles

Horrible structure issues as well as terribly managed

Definetly do you research before buying a condo This building was only about 4 yrs old when owners were stuck w a huge special assessment due to a leaky parkade that had not been built to code One bedroom units were responsible for 6000 immediatly Not only does this building have structural issues but I have been waiting to hear back from a condo board member for 6 months They do not give out any contact information so you have to contact the management company who then supposedly contacts the board This is absolutely unacceptable The bylaw fines are ridiculous are being demanded without any proof of violation An example is a 300 fine for having a bag of garabage on your personal balcony or a container in your parking stall There are no warnings you are just sent a 300 fine When contacting the board to discuss the fines they do not return calls as mentioned above 6 months and counting Does anyone have any suggestions here Who can you contact if you have problems with your board IS there anyone
